FVNCA was instrumental in the formation of the
City's Greenbelt Walkway commission and
advocated for the pedestrian trail that now
traverses the City.

FVNCA was instrumental in the formation of the
City's Project PLAN (Promoting Livelihoods and
Neighborhoods) to deal with the growing
demands for competing land uses throughout the
City.

FVNCA was instrumental in preventing the
creation of additional tank farms in the Village.

FVNCA was instrumental in preventing a fish-
processing plant proposed for the waterfront.

Ferry Village became the test site for the City's
first speed table (Pine Street) to control speeding.
Speed tables are now promised on other streets
in the Village and are being considered for other
neighborhoods in the City.

For over a decade, FVNCA has been working with
a private landowner to acquire easements on the
Old Joe's Pond site. This historic wetland area
had provided recreation such as ice skating.

FVNCA played an integral role in the outcome of
the rehabilitation of the former bicycle factory
property on Mill Cove which is now an upscale
apartment complex called RiverPlace.
